How can I adapt it?
This activity can be done face to face "on the chalkboard, chart paper or overhead projector
to a large or small group. It also works well as one-on-one work. Rather than
starting with the teacher's concept, use a student's concept. Concept attainment
can be used to introduce or conclude a unit of study". Can concept attainment be used in the online learning environment
using a whiteboard, blogging, journals, postings in a forum?
Variations on the Concept Attainment Model
 |
Present all the attributes of the concept to guess what the concept is |
 |
Have all the positive and negative examples of the concept and ask students
to put them into two categories and guess what the concept is |
 |
Using a concept already presented have the students identify positive and
negative exemplars |
 |
Use the model as a group activity. |
